So far so good with my project except for getting my beats uploaded to this page. What I will do is upload one of my songs to youtube and hopefully embed it into my E-portfolio. I say hopefully because I've made a soundtrack for a short video of our Burrs basketball team and I had no success with embedding it, but I did link it to my portfolio. With that being said, if your reading this now check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVoh-YAXsAs
On the other hand, I've been working on songs that will be on my final product, but haven't yet completed one. Although, I have been making songs for myself that I just do for fun which serves as practice and a sort of training for the real showdown: the CD. I've been experimenting with new styles of writing and working on collaborations with singers such as, Shomari and Chassidy so stay tuned in.
I admire you drive. I wish I had it like that. I have been watching and you are making very nice progress, but I think that stuff that you are saying is just for fun has the potential to be doctored into something that can be incorporated into your final product. Keep up the good work, check out my latest blog ( I think you might like it). Oh yeah I am going to need you to drop a few lines for a track for my project, but they will be written by me. I hope you don't mind.
ReplyDeleteYo Bro,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see that things are going pretty well for you. One thing I have noticed is that when people feel like they need to do something, the final product becomes less valuable. One thing that you can do to prevent this is get in a group with your friends and "freestyle" (or whatever you call it) so that your mind is in a state of flow. Record youself so that you can remember what you said. Once you remove the feeling of being obligated, you can create a masterpiece. Good luck!
Like Chass mentioned already, the songs you're doing for fun can be edited to put on your CD. If not you might want to ask as to how explicit your content can be. I've heard a few of your bars and they sound good enough, if you do plan on pursuing this further though you might want to buy a mike so it can pick your voice up better.
ReplyDeleteA good mic is very good advice. We don't have good ones on campus unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteYou might try embedding the youtube here or at least linking to it.
That's great Nick. When you were talking about doing music with singers, I thought about doing something like that, but this time uncluding beatboxing. Maybe we could get together and do some sort of music with me in the beat and you with the lyrics. That way, your music will have more variation.
